A 10 chilometri di distanza ci sono le meravigliose spiagge incontaminate del Sinis: San Giovanni, Seu, Maimoni, Is Arutas, Mari Ermi, e poco più in là Putzu Idu, Sa Mesa Longa, Is Arenas, S’Archittu, …. Ma a soli tre chilometri da casa si dispiega la spiaggia di Torre Grande, nel golfo di Oristano
Nei dintorni sono molte le presenze architettoniche che raccontano brani di storia della sardegna: I nuraghe e i pozzi sacri di San Salvatore e Santa Cristina, i resti archeologici fenici e romani di Tharros e Fordongianus, l’architettura spagnola delle chiese di Oristano e dei paesi dell’agro campidanese, l’edificato storico dei paesi, in terra cruda o pietra arenaria nella pianura, in basalto rosso o nero verso la montagna.
The legendary beaches of the Sinis peninsula are 10 kilometers away: San Giovanni, Seu, Maimoni, Is Arutas and Mari Ermi; just a little bit further that way you can find places like Putzu Idu, Sa Mesa Longa, Is Arenas, S’Archittu… The closest in reach (a mere 3km, you can even walk or cycle on a bike path) is Torre Grande’s beach, in the Gulf of Oristano.
Many architectural peculiarities in the nearby areas tell snippets of the Sardinian heritage: the nuraghe, the sacred wells of San Salvatore and Santa Cristina, the archaeological remains of Phoenician and Roman origin in Tharros and Fordongianus, Spanish architecture in the churches of Oristano and other campidanese hamlets, the historical building manners and their characteristic materials: rammed earth or sandstone in the plains, red and black volcanic stones towards the mountains.
